Cutter mechanism

This mechanism is comprised of a cutter carriage sub-assembly, the circular cutting blade sub-

assembly, a holding spring ("Spring, CCB hold"), three gears ("Gear, CCB driving," "Gear, CCB

transmission,” and "Gear, AC rack"), and a fixed blade (Linear cutting blade). The circular

cutting blade sub-assembly, which is mounted in the cutter carriage sub-assembly, is pressed

against the fixed blade by the force of the holding spring.

Cutting operation

When the cutter carriage sub-assembly starts from home position at either the right (R) or left (L)

side, the motor is activated so that it rotates in the direction of the arrow (see illustration); the

rotation force passes into the transmission mechanism, causing the cutter carriage sub-assembly

which is engaged the carriage drive shaft to move in the direction of the arrow. The resulting

rotation of the gear, AC rack and the gear, CCB transmission causes the gear, CCB driving to

turn, so that the circular cutting blade sub-assembly also turns in the direction of the arrow,
