switch circuit board assembly-BSince the printer mechanism, including the auto cutter, will not
operate properly if the frame cover is not closed correctly, a cover open sensor mechanism is
equipped to detect when the frame cover is not closed correctly. A cover open button
mechanism is also provided to partially open the cover.
Cover open sensor mechanism
A transmissive type photosensor, consisting of an LED and phototransistor, is mounted on the
cover open board, and affixed to the main frame. The frame cover is shaped so it fits into the
photosensor, and closing of the frame cover causes the cover to enter into the photosensor slit,
cutting the optic axis. When the frame cover is raised, on the other hand, photosensor light
passes through the slit. This makes it possible to detect whether or not the cover is open by
monitoring the output level of the photo transistor.
