5. If the plug has retaining screws, tighten them by hand or
with a screwdriver, depending on the screw type.
6. Plug the monitor power cord into the monitor’s power
inlet, as shown below.

Plug the other end of monitor’s power cord into an
electrical outlet.
Using a Display Adapter Card
If you are using a non-VGA monitor, you’ll need to install a
display adapter (video) card in one of the computer’s option
slots before you can connect the monitor. (Your dealer may
have already installed the video card for you.)
If the video card has not yet been installed, you’ll need to
follow the instructions in Chapter 7 to install an option card.
But first, check the following table to make sure your display
adapter card and monitor are properly matched.
